Bio
Amanda West Lewis is a writer, theatre creator, and calligraphic artist. She is the author of eleven award-winning books spanning YA, middle grade novels, historical fiction, craft books, picture books, non-fiction poetry, and a graphic novel. Amanda has an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts with a specialization in picture books. She has spent thirty years working with young people in theatre –– developing theatre programs, teaching, directing, writing, and running several theatre schools. Throughout all of her work lies a passion for language, movement, exploring choices, and the thrill of asking questions. When not writing, teaching, or making art, Amanda can usually be found in her gardens in the woods of Eastern Ontario, where she lives with her husband, author Tim Wynne-Jones. Her children and grandchildren inspire her to stay curious and open to the unknown.
