Jackie Kruzie
Agency / publisher: Focused Artists
Bio
Jackie is a literary agent with Focused Artists, representing board books through YA. A self-proclaimed book dragon, she hunts and hoards books like buried treasure and has built a career creating and sharing books as an author, librarian, and literary agent. She holds a master’s degree in library science and worked in school and public libraries before shifting to publishing. Her work in school libraries impacts the books she chooses to represent and looks for books that create lifelong readers. She loves books that spark an emotional reaction, whether that reaction is joy, surprise, curiosity, fear, or sadness. Her personal writing credits include The Lousy Layup, a graphic novel published by Capstone Publishing, and a contributing chapter in Serving Patrons with Disabilities published by The American Library Association. Her chapter titled Talk With Me received national recognition being featured in American Libraries Magazine and secured her an invitation to speak at the ALA Conference in 2023.
